This is very cool. TSO is running a contest where they give you sheet music/tabs for Wizards in Winter and ask you to put a video of yourself playing it on YouTube.

Near as I can tell, not being a US resident, I can't actually enter. But that's okay. I now have official tabs for Wizards in Winter, along with a backing track minus the guitar. :D Better yet, looking at them, I can already play pretty much all of the song.

More practicing will happen. And if/when I get my hands on a keyboard, I'll practice that, too.

What surprises me, though, is the number of people I see who're putting up their vids and adding an "I know I made mistakes, but please ignore them" note in it. Christ, people. It's not like you're being evaluated live. If you know you've messed something up, play/record again until you get it right. It's not that difficult... Especially if you're playing guitar #2, which is nothing but powerchords anyway.

That being said, this has to be the niftiest entry ever. Wizards In Winter + tambourine = awesome.
