I picked up My Bloody Valentine at the liberry yesterday to get some good ol' cheesy-movie Jensen, and went for the commentary to see if they said anything about him.
One of his first scenes.
-Jensen’s just so brilliant with the camera. He knew exactly where to turn, when to turn back, and exactly where the frame lines were. Just instinctive.
-We don’t have to talk about how dreamy he is, right? Cause that’s pretty much known?
-Yeah, he’s pretty dreamy. Uh, yeah. Yeah, Jensen knows he’s dreamy.
-(laughs) Cause I told him.
-(laughs) Yeah, only because of that.
-He didn’t know before that. I told him, dude you’re dreamy.
When greasy cop is watching the 'porn' with his woman, and you see Jensen outside the window.
-I remember the day we shot this. Jensen’s standin outside the window, Betsy and I are laying naked on the bed, and he looks down and-
his buddy Jared’s in the Friday the 13th remake and I said, I bet Jared’s not doin this. And he’s like “Yeah... yeah this is good.”
Epic end scene in the mine shaft with Jensen going crazy.
- Jensen did such a great job here, I remember he was a little bit nervous about it, but he really delivered. And then when you see the miner fade it’s like “Oh my god the cute guy’s crazy.” And people go into this thing where this first reaction is to feel bad for him. And then by the end of this montage, they hate him. It was fascinating to take people on that journey.
Montage time.
-By the end of this montage, 44% of Supernatural fans hate us, just to throw that out there.
-Every time we put Jensen in a suit for these reveals in these locations I would feel so guilty and terrible because Jensen’s such a good guy when I see him go into killer mode, I just, I felt bad.
-Look, when I was on the set when he was outside the motel right there, I remember physically having goosebumps watching him yank that.. sock off his head real slow.
-That right there, just the tearing off his skin and here we have the sword in the stone moment, holding up Excalibur. And here’s the explanation of how he did the cage.
(stuff about the music) Jensen held this up perfectly (the mask)Jensen knows where the camera is, he knows how to- he’s got such a great sense of cinema, he’ll be an amazing director, when he decides to do that, which I’m sure he will.
Back in the mine shaft. lol. Shaft.
We did have him say ‘I’m Harry’, we cut it out and just let the smile work. As Jensen would call it, the “I’m Batman” line. There’s no stunt guys in this fight, it’s all Jensen and Kerr. We did shoot a take from the other side over the fight onto Jamie for the fight music, but the stunk guys just weren’t as good fighters as Jensen and Kerr were
-Well Jensen does his on the show
-Yeah, and the two of them look so good doing it, they both gotta modify the choreography a little bit, and made it their own and just, y’know, and here they are kind of matching crazy.
Chick is about to shoot him.
-This fakeout moment where maybe got through to him, the music changes, goes soft, his face softens, all the Supernatural fans say “See, he’s not really bad, it can all work out”
-Suddenly they’re back in an episode with Sam and Dean
End Scene
-Jensen’s look here was priceless
-Yeah he clearly didn’t have fun in this movie.
-And that look right to the lens. Looking at the audience
