❝ let's chat! ❞
Hello: it's a Saturday night/Sunday morning, October, maybe pretty dark and rainy out. What better to do than tool around on LJ, right? Here's a place to do exactly that; only in a more organized and hopefully more enlightening way :D

Summary: I've read books 1-3, and while there were some things I actually did enjoy about them (mostly Twilight), I just found it average & perhaps liked the crack. It is painfully overrated, particularly with those who have yet to experience good writing (see: this). Also, I refuse to read Breaking Dawn, and I think Stephanie Meyer is a complete cash-cow. There, I said it.
Despite all of the above mentioned, I for some reason ended up liking the Cullens, Bella & Jacob. Yet at the same time I want to burn the entire thing to the ground. Quite the dilemma.

I read all 4 books this summer ( and then some). I admit her writing isn't all that great, nevertheless, I still enjoyed the series. Maybe it's because of my fascination with vampires that overrides it all? I was a little disappointed with Breaking Dawn though, just because Edward's personality basically withered away and the big battle that never happened. AND DNW @ VIDEO. I clicked and and closed the window real quick. I refuse to watch those videos of hers for fear that I'll be traumatized in some way. The animated gifs floating around the Twilight posts @ ohnotheydidnt are enough. 8D
And it's nice to see someone who actually read the book(s) and then voiced their opinion instead of someone just automatically assuming it's made of fail because of the really, really overzealous fans. And extra points for liking Jacob. :)

Blindly resenting a book because of its fans wouldn't make me any better than people like nuttymadam3575, now would it. & at least you can acknowledge that both Stephanie Meyer's writing and the story has flaws (what work of fiction doesn't?), because it is a rare trait when it comes to fans of Twilight.
