I do feel the same way. I think for me it's sort of the culture and country. We didn't do the big wedding or have it in Australia so it doesn't seem official although I know it is.

It should feel more official to you than it does to me since it was in your country. I suppose we didn't do the traditional wedding or the just-for-show white wedding before the paper work so it threw you off.
