unmerited favor
Sometimes, it is hard to snap out of the 'one-of-those-days' mood. But don't mistake this seemingly dark side of my head, I am thankful for what God have given.
I am thankful that He, during the darkest period of my life, gave me the gift of baptism. I'd always questioned, Father, Are you sure my baptism was valid? Are you sure? Even when I am still living in sin? Even when I've backslided?
it occured then to me, that it is not based on my 'perfection' that I received baptism. It was grace; God's unmerited favor bestowed upon me. It was the death of Christ that washes away my sin.
“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”
