Peony
The first two kind of go together. They're both from this amazingly gorgeous doujin called 'Walk On' and as I recall Peony and Jade are just sort of chit-chatting about serious stuff regarding Luke and then Luke pops up and Peony goes through a WHOLE RANGE of useful expressions from emo on Luke's behalf to cheerful. You can tell which they are; there's a big chunk in the middle of my icons and they're all my favorites, really. (Especially 'timbre'.) Those two in particular are '... hey hey hey wait don't own me' and 'daaaaaaaw you morons', the latter of which is about Peony's most sincere smile. The third I didn't make! Masahiro made it on my behalf waaaay back when, and it's been one of my keepers because it has an adorable rappig and Peony heartmarking and what more do you need?
Kamina
The first: The OAV was pretty much my saviour as far as icons go. We don't get to see many well-lit shots of Kamina just being a flaming moron in the series itself, so when an OAV came out which was basically all Kamina being a flaming moron while colourful and well lit I owned the hell out of it. I needed more random 'oi Simon you dumb kid' icons. The second is ... is meant to be an 'I'm cool and smooth' icon but I haven't ever really used it in camp because, well, KAMINA and it's been a long time since the Gurren crew's needed serious night-time talkies. The third is kept mostly to cheat and make Yoko spaz, again generally during night-time talky threads.
Zetsubou
Context on the first: When the guilt-ridden and ever-apologetic schoolgirl of the class makes her mark on sensei, she and he both go on a round-the-world trip to try to find a place where they won't be a bother to anyone. After the realisation that being a foreigner is automatically a bother to a native, they head for Okinawa and find many model-like people enjoying the sun and tan there. Sensei's bleached white stick self despairs that he does not look like a hunky voice actor. The second, I have no fucking idea about because afk haven't gotten to Zoku 9 yet. But I just had to icon it for obvious reasons. I'll get him drunk yet. The third: Zetsubou, when he's at full steam, is actually really passionate and really kind of a knowledgable shonen hero. He'll shout, bang tables and blackboards, show sudden fervour, and suddenly own your face with logic. This is one of those times.
