On one side there is the calm and sensible emperor who knows that camp does what camp likes, that they can't stop camp from doing what it likes, and that this was pretty damn likely to happen all along. That side is remarkably zen - he's reasonably sure that when camp ends there'll be some kind of way to travel around the worlds, and if there isn't then they've got that big ol' rocket in Sheridan and who knows what could happen. He definitely doesn't begrudge Meryl leaving - it's not her choice, after all - and he's mature enough to recognize that these things happen. Rather than mope about it he should move on, keep a damn close eye on Becky (who is faring much worse than he is) and just throw himself into stuff in order to get on with things.
Then there is the happy hopeful human bit (which is also the lovelorn moron that named a rappig after his first luv) who is kind of feeling snippy and aggravated and definitely not in a pleasant mood. Again, he's dealing far better than Becky but he's not always got the patience, and is currently more prone to throw out rather more cutting remarks and snipes. He's able to admit this, and realise this - hence his post a few days back basically going 'look I'd welcome you to camp but I'm not really into that right now', but that in turn bugs him because he shouldn't be like this and it's all a bit roundabout.
Fortunately! He has found things to do. Aside from keep the hell an eye on Becky, he deals better by practicing a kind of generalised denial / avoidance and is currently funneling his energy into setting up shelters for Halloween and aiming at future events. He will be fine, because he knows how the world works and can roll with it.
