Most doctors absolutely hate patients like this. And, as Esther said, most people are not reasonable in the ways they use the info they get at the University of Google, nor have they any qualifications to discriminate between good and bad information.

Вот дядечка-доктор в выше-указанной статье говорит обратное...

Yeah, right! Ask him again in the privacy of his own home. :))) I have heard plenty of comments about this from doctors.

So what? You are not going to research anything just because you don't want to annoy doctors?

Of course, I will. But: I can actually read the same info they read and judge what is likely to be bull. And there is a fine line between getting more info and telling doctors how to do their job that a lot of people cross (like my mom, for example). Also you don't want somebody who finds you annoying helping you, this set you up for failure.

I agree with those points, yes.
Although in some cases it is not possible not to annoy doctors. You don't know what they will find annoying in advance. And I personally cannot stop reasonable in my opinion questions just because I don't want to annoy somebody :(

Com'n, you are saying that the doctors are not only incompetent, but also not professional?? I mean, we all deal with annoying people in our jobs, but that does not (should not) prevent us from still doing our job the way we feel should.

This is in ideal circumstances, but not in reality. In reality you don't like things that you find annoying and try to get rid of them ASAP. Doctors are human, too.

What do you mean?

2) I'm not talking about unprofessional people, I"m talking about professional people who may not want to go an extra mile for somebody they don't like. This is not specific to doctors, but to any kind of a professional relationship.

What do you mean?
Я и сама с клиентами работаю, и моё отношение к ним лично не влияет на качество работы.

Еле:

У тебя больше шансов понять про болячки, чем тем, кто ни фига в биологи и современной науке не понимает. Завидую :)

Most? :) Have you met a doctor who likes patients who got their MD at the University of Google? :)

But who cares? I can also say that I hate it when my family members or I don't get cured. It's not about the lovey-dovey patient-doc relationship at all. We are not getting married.
And, yes, most doctors I talked to were happy when I came in informed.

In some sense we all care. For example it was clear to me yesterday that the resident was annoyed by me. At the point that he got annoyed, I was not getting thru at all. He just shut down.
