September is the neverending month of birthdays for me. I have done so much birthday nonsense...planning, gifts, parties and BAKING. I feel like some little housewi-...there has to be a less gender discriminatory way to say that, but you know what I mean. I've been in the kitchen a lot, and it's hot work. Damn.
Thankfully, September has been fairly kind to me, all of the rushing around aside. On Monday I start back at Starbucks, which I'm honestly very excited about. Of all the jobs I've held I loved Starbucks the most. No company is perfect, and of course I am not thrilled about removing my piercing and keeping my hair natural colors...but otherwise they're really good to their employees and customers. In fact, the customer interaction is one of my favorite things about the job. I guess I just like pleasing people.
More importantly my manager, Marvin, is the same manager I had at my old Starbucks. He makes work a blast and selects awesome people who actually know what they're doing, how to do it fast, and keep things light heated and fun. Apparently he was looking at a huge stack of applications and was waiting to find one that really jumped out at him...so when he saw mine he called me in a heartbeat. He said some really nice things to me about my work ethic, and how he thought I'd help improve the store even more. It was exactly what I needed to hear, since I've been pretty down on myself as of late.
Well, I think I'm going to try doodling a bit since I've been an art slacker. Hope you guys are all doing well and looking as forward to October as I am. Oh man. Halloweeeeeen.
