Writer's Block: Conversion Rate

I was baptized Lutheran, which is a small branch of Christianity founded by a man who hated how greedy the Catholics were, and also hated Jews. What a faggot, Martin Luther.

I don't worship anything (though I do have my own spiritual beliefs, mostly tying into nature and karma~), but almost every religion worships the sun. This includes Christianity, and here's how:

In ancient civilizations, the sun was divine...it scared off the predators, brought light, warmth, and helped the plants grow. The earliest known people to realize this were the ancient Egyptians, who believed in the sun god, Ra. His popularity as a deity died out when Jesus Christ of Nazareth's story became the widely accepted belief. There are several parallels between Ra, Jesus, and several other deities spanning the civilizations, such as:

Birth was heralded by a star
Birth was witnessed by Shepherds/Kings/Someone awesome on December 25th
Followed by 12 disciples/followers/priests, depending~
Walked on water and healed the sick
Crucified, died, and was buried
Resurrected after 3 days

Now, check out the astrological calendar, which has 12 months. You'll notice that the constellations in the skies were what helped people track the seasons, which is why they have such nifty stories or were considered deities, since the retelling of a story does what? Helps you to remember, right.  December 25th? Coldest/darkest day of the year...the "Son" is born. The Sun. Crucified? It's the pagan cross on the astrological calender, toward the center if memory serves, and helps to point out stars...like the Shepherds, which is a constellation known by several names by several peoples.

Fun fact! THE MORE YOU KNOW*~*~*~*~*~*~
