Cutscene: Counteract
Attach your words to my back, maybe they can lift my spirits,
and my frail frame along with them.
Every night comes emblazed with a stern warning: "don’t feed the flames."
Eighteen steps from here to the lake, and running is forbidden.
I see your shadow at the bottom.
C’mon feet, lets save the world again.
And yes, and yes, and yes, and always, I try.
And yes, and always, smiles turn a blind eye to my entrapment.
Toes in the air, heart at the wheel, I’m serious this time about wanting to be good for you.
But honestly, I’ve been known to confuse happiness with fear.
Lock and key entry, you’re in.
Wrap me up and cut the oxygen from my fires.
This will be a long night, but I promise we’ll get through.
And on the other side, I see us standing, smiling...
I see us brand new.
