Thanks for that sterling information. If I'm ever reincarnated as a donkey I'll keep it in mind! :D Seriously though, that's a really useful piece of philosophy. I was very lucky to have a mother who was at great pains to point out to her children that waiting to be "rescued" from *anything* was a complete waste of time.

I'm glad the donkey was okay. It sounds as though he didn't even suffer any broken bones; quite a feet for falling down a well.
