I saw a medical show on the Discovery channel a while ago (it was a reenactment) about a woman who been hiccuping for a week. The doctor on duty tried every method he could think of (stand her on her head, make her drink water, scare her, etc.) and nothing worked. So at the very end he tried something he saw on some television show somewhere- he pressed his thumb into the center of her forehead for about five seconds. She didn't hiccup again. I couldn't believe this was really a way of stopping hiccups, but tonight I was plagued by a really annoying bout and couldn't get rid of them, even by drinking water which usually works, so I tried the pressing-thumb-on-forehead method. Dude, it totally works. I don't know if it's an actual cure of if it's just in your mind, but whatever the case it took the hiccups away instantly. Tell your friends.
