So Christmas is officially over...It's now four minutes past the day when everything is closed and there's nothing to do other than to sleep and lounge around in front of the TV. I think I may be one of the few people who honestly dislike coming home each and every year for the holidays simply because my boredom seems to grow exponentially day after day. I've been home for about three nights and I'm already ready to go back up to the Bay Area...back to my comfy apartment and friends. :) I have about 13 more days down here in the OC. I think I need to find some things to do...
Christmas went much smoother this year than last. No hiding and crying away from my extended family in my room, no threats and arguments, and best of all no need for Amanda and her mom freaking out about me and calling everyone with my last name in Orange County to check on me. I'm kind of indifferent about my gifts...then again I didn't really provide anyone with what I want for presents. I got a pair of Uggs from my mom, a CK sweater from my dad, a pair of gloves from JCrew and a scarf from Hollister from my brother, and money. I love how my brother bought me Hollister, seeing that I work there and buy pretty much everything I want already. Oh well, it's the thought that counts.
Speaking of Hollister, I went out two days ago to several stores to be borrowed. Well the store that I normally would work at down here has a new general manager and let me be the first (and not only) to say "WHAT A FUCKING CUNT FACED BITCH!" She was all ready to borrow me into the store and when she found out what store that I came from, she retorted with "Oh ew gross! I remember Sunvalley. That was honestly the most horrible, worst store that I have EVER been to." Before she even finished, she turned around and said "Actually, I don't have any more brand rep hours to give. If you want to be borrowed as a brand rep, you can try another store." WTF!? She didn't specifically say this but I'm sure the reason she didn't borrow me in was because of the fact that I was from Sunvalley. UGH! Now I'm driving 18 miles to the store at the Spectrum to work. Oh well...the managers there are cool -- one was my old manager Megan from Brea.
I think I need to find some people to hang out with soon. I *hope* to get away for New Year's Eve and hang out with some friends instead of being stuck at home as usual. I need to also renew some of my friendships with people from high school. I feel terrible not keeping up with them. I actually just found out that my new roommate, Aaron, is friends with one of my kinda friends Carrie from high school. Oh and even more connections -- Aaron invited me to a party at his friend's place a week or two ago (I'd like to add that I've never been around so many gay people in my life...it was scary yet somewhat...umm...enlightening (for lack of a better word)) and I find out talking to his ex, who could potentially be my GSI (TA at some schools) for some upper-division EECS class down the road, that one of his friends is my friend's roommate. What a small world right?
Since I've missed out from not writing for so long, here's some random catch-up tidbits.
- I've moved once again -- this time to Emeryville with a friend from work.
- Finally crossed over and now an active member of Phi Delta Theta.
- Didn't do too hot on my EECS classes for this past semester. :-\
-
My Two Friends is now Solari, and they'll be playing a show at 12 Galaxies in SF, a music/tv conference in Hollywood, and potentially a show put on my Apple. BTW the Roxy show was HOT! We've also just signed part of a contract.
I guess I should probably go to bed now since I may have to work tomorrow (and if not, I'm definitely doing some post-Christmas shopping). I'll try to write more. There's so much to catch up on.
