Disability in Canada

This has got to be the most depressing news story I've seen in a long time.

...of course, in Canada, it's much different. Rather than bulldoze outright disabled ppl's means of living, we give them a barely sustained existence, take away their access to defend their rights (rights which barely made it into the Charter in the first place), effectively deny them access to most opportunities to education, employment , health care and other accommodations and let them "live" just long enough to justify our smug self-satisfaction about Canada being all about human rights (when in actuality, many Canadians actually felt/feel pretty lukewarm about the charter).
