Lupe- my number one hip-hop of 2006. In my opinion, this album works similar to Thom Yorke's The Eraser because both of those are grand gems. They don't jump out right at first, but what they are in truth, are ingenious musical thoughts.
Jay-Z- yeah...cocky son of a bitch. His stuff on this album has a similar feel on pretty much every song. I really dig this record, but its not his best, by beats or lyrics. However, it still grooves, and he does some interesting things with his rhyme schemes during certain verses. I consider it to be a soulful-esque sound (that isn't official or technical), especially "Lost One".
What do you mean by nostalgia?
P.O.S.- did you catch that live show? This boy can spit. Politically charged, i can appreciate his feelings. I cannot relate as well, because we come from different lifestyles. An anti-thesis of this would be Anti-Flag's Terror State, which I feel, also politically charged, is unappreciable because its focus is strictly on the war and our selfish endeavor to steal oil. That is not happening...the problems with this war are elsewhere...not in oil. I felt that their content was based on bias and ignorance.
Imogen Heap- Have we never talked about her? She is the second most important artist in one of the few genres I am creating/have created. I saw her live back in Nov. and it was a blast of a show.
..."As Lovers Go"...one of my favorite Dashboard songs, next to "A Plain Morning" of course...

I definitely agree with you on the Anti-Flag comment. I have not listened to a lot of their stuff, but what I have heard I would agree fits well into your comparison in that they are a little mislead either in their information or the execution of their protest. The angle they take is very brash.
I'm not sure we addressed Imogen Heap as being in line with your genre, but it may have come up when we were talking about the summer night kinda feel... I would definitely relate her to that. I've been listening to her a lot lately and can't get it out of my head!
Dashboard is amazing. I don't think that their lyrics will ever go out of style. I really like that you pick "A Plain Morning." I think you can tell when someone really listens/understands Dashboard when their favorite song is not one of their "Hit" singles or major anthem songs.
