Tweaking, tweaking, tweaking the Sarah application for Poly.
Seeing
this site didn't exactly help the way I liked it to help, but it does make for some fascinating reading. I can feel myself re-writing the application now xD
...
Geh. Submitted the app twice, deleted it twice, and I just closed the window of the third one.
I think I'll sleep first and re-write it before I leave to watch the
Dogeaters play.
But...
She shouldn’t forget the reason why she was there in the first place. It was to rescue her half-brother Toby. She loved him, she really did, and didn’t truly mean for the goblins and the Goblin King himself to take him away. Okay, perhaps back during the moment that she wished for it to happen, yes. But it was only because he wouldn’t stop crying!
It had been like it was in the book; she had to go through the labyrinth to reach the Goblin City and the castle beyond it, where Jareth was holding her brother captive. An adventure, to rescue the child from the clutches of the evil king! Except that the king claimed to have done only what Sarah wanted, and wouldn’t listen to her pleas of returning him.
When she said she wanted to be taken away to another place, that wasn’t the experience she had in mind. She would’ve liked to have her brother with her, perhaps, but she didn’t want him to be endangered in any way.
For some moments back there, she didn’t think she’d make it through the huge maze, let alone reach the center. Jareth himself made sure of that when he sent the cleaners after her and Hoggle. But now that she was with Ludo and Sir Didymus as well, she felt sure that they’d be in time to save Toby.
Then, Hoggle gave her that peach.
Now… she wasn’t so sure.
(The next paragraph was supposed to be about the ballroom scene, but... well, it's either I start with this, or I re-write it with the ballroom scene as my jump-off point. Thoughts? AR? *wibbles*)
