I honestly believe that if you truly want to go you should. If it will give you closure or some sense of comfort, then go. You're enough of an adult to go with how you feel.

Also, it's not that your parents don't care, it's that they care too much. Clearly they're tying to shield you from pain, but I believe it's truly unnecessary. So go with your heart.
