You'll get used to the wings, in time. I know they feel awkward at first, but you don't want anything to happen to them. They're tied to our health, here.

There are so many people in the book! Maybe this is normal?...

Hi! Um, really? I never met anyone with wings in the Black Fang, and even after I joined Lord Eliwood's army with Jaffar! Only birds and Pegasi have wings made of feather! They're really pretty, but how can they be a part of me? I mean, they would hurt if I had wings before, but I never did!

Neither did I. If only we could fly with them...but they won't allow us even that. The names you mention are unfamiliar to me, and don't be too surprised if other people don't get them, either. There are many people from many worlds here, some very different.

I'm Rydia of Mist. What's your name?

Ah... I haven't thought of that! They looked kind of small, so I didn't... It would be so cool if we could, though! [Definitely a bit disappointed by that, :(]

So this is a different world? ...A lot of people are telling me that, and- huh? Oh... Kipin says so too... Do you know what happens to the people I know, back in my own world, miss? Something really important is going to happen soon, and I have to be there for it! [worry worry...]

I'm Nino... It's nice to meet you, miss Rydia! [She's much more cheerful usually, really! D8;]

It's nice to meet you, too, Nino!

Kipinn's wonderful company, isn't he? I learned from Nala first, but he's the spirit I converse with most around here. As for your companions...I don't know precisely, but I can venture a guess. The Malnosso seem to have the ability to manipulate time as well as space. From my understanding, supposedly they return people to the point in which they were taken, though I can't prove this. If that's the case, then you might have nothing to worry about. That in no way guarantees how long you'll be here, though.

Yes, he is! He tried to blow my book away when I was talking with Lady Lyn, though! [She huffs a little, causing the air ruffles her hair. That huff lasted for barely a second before she began to giggle again, a few fallen tree leaves artfully dancing around her.] Nala's the spirit of Healing, right? You have to be a cleric or a monk to heal, but if a Mage gets another practice to become a Sage, then I can too! I'll have to practice hard, then!

...

Um, so are you saying that, it's... like if I'm a page in a story book! But I was taken out of the book and put into another book that has another story, so it's an entirely new place, even if I'm still me, and everything will be alright again, if my page is taken out of this book and is then replaced into the original book, is that right?

That would be good! But how can you say that nobody will be reading the old book that I am from during when I'm not there, and what'll happen if they skip my page, which could be a little important, and would contribute a little to the whole story? [/ ( ... )

[Pause, as she tries to put that together. Was able to follow some of it, but that's still pretty convoluted.]

That's an interesting analogy. I in no way claim to be an expert or even know if I'm in any way right about this subject; the Malnosso could prove me wrong, for all I know. But -and this is guesswork, mind you- while you're gone, I don't think anyone could 'skip your page,' so to speak. You'd be returned to the same instant in which you left, so it's not like you or they would be missing anything, right? Time won't move ahead without you, you're just taken outside it for a moment--or however long they choose to keep us here.

I hope that makes sense to you, because I'm still trying to figure this out. I'd be glad to give more solid answers to other questions, though.

R-really...?

Oh, that would be a really good thing, though! Jaffar would be so worried, if I left for somewhere without letting him know! I don't want to let uncle Canas and Erk down either, they were going to teach me more how to read and write later! So I can still help Lord Eliwood and everyone, once I get back, right? [She beams.]

It did, so thank you, miss Rydia! This helps very much!

You're welcome! There's also a really thorough guide here, written by one of the residents. She explains many aspects of Luceti and it's fairly up-to-date, too. If you still have questions, that just means there's more to be added for the next edition.

I have to admit, I'm curious about your world's magic. It sounds very similar to mine!

Oh, another lady called Patchouli showed it to me! I'm still learning how to read, but so far I understand the idea of what's happened, so thank you for that, too! [She grins widely.] I can ask around with the journal if there's something that I don't understand, right?

Really? That would be really interesting! Um, I'm not really sure about it myself, since I learned how to use magic by repeating and memorizing when I watch Mo- um, Sonia practice, and I didn't know how to read back then because I was never taught, and Erk said that you are supposed to understand the incantations before they can work, so he was really surprised with me! But I never have a problem, because I could always hear the spirits of the elements, and they talk to me! I always talked back to them, but m-Sonia said that it was a waste of time, and you should just use them! [...that's how she explains things, 8|b;]

Hm, maybe I should bring up the idea of having the guide also on a voice recording, for those who need it. Information shouldn't stagnate by being kept in only one form.

[Pause, as she puts all that together.]

So, you knew spirits much like the ones we have here? They don't help in quite the same way in my world, but I could summon different elemental beings. Your clerics sound like our white mages, or epopts. They can heal--our monks, less so, but they have a minor skill that allows them do do the same. Are Sages in your world the sort who can use all types of magic, too? That's what it sounded like, but I don't want to assume.

Ah, that would be helpful, but everyone should know how to read, or learn as soon as possible, right? I didn't have a chance to back in my world, but a really, really nice lady here has offered to teach me! [She's pretty ecstatic about this. :|b] So I'll be able to read it and understand it fully, I'm sure!~

[nod nod] Uh huh! They're not exactly the same, but they are similar! They don't exactly have a name, and while you can talk to them, it's when you take a spell tome and chant it out loud that they show off their power! I like talking to them, even if m- um, if Sonia says that it's useless. And yeah, I think! Miss Sera was a cleric, and mister Lucius was a monk! They were bishops the last time I saw them, and they are the only one who can use light magic! Um... Ah, they follow Saint Elimine's teachings, so I guess it's 'sister' and 'father', right? I think I've been to a church, once...

But yeah! Sages are what you call Anima users who are really skilled! I'm just a mage now, but if I work hard, I may be able to become one too! ( ... )
