Honestly, that seems a bit like hiding to me.

And protesters cannot be effective if they hide themselves.

I understand that people have taken some grief from trolls around here. But it happens. And it's really just words. They can't harm you. All they can do is piss you off and, if you get pissed, it's not the trolls fault. It is your own for letting them get under your skin.

I'm even inclined to state that people have a right to say what they feel, even if we don't agree. I thought that's why this community was started. As a matter of fact, when I first joined it (when it opened and I had a different username), I wasn't under the impression it was strictly for fandom. I was under the impression it was a protest group, standing up against people who wish to silence those with differing views.

Now I feel like we may be the ones doing the silencing.

Protesters in real life have to deal with trolls as well. They have to deal with people in their faces; screaming at them, throwing things at them, spitting on them, calling them all manner of names. But, if they honestly believe in their cause, they don't back down and they don't hide.

I'm having a lot of trouble with this right now...and am really going to have to decide if I want to stick with this community.

Because I'm not sure this turn is one I can agree with.
