I know that this is one of the major unanswered questions, and there's been some speculation about some (unclear) answers from someone in the lj_biz post. Well, as soon as the post went up and I saw that there wasn't an answer, I sent in a support request with the exact wording from the open letter:

So it was a statement you received from the support team?

The thing is, though, we've been getting responses from all over the support team (rachel, coffeechica, Brian, etc.) - there shouldn't be inconsistencies, but there obviously are... and while I'm reluctant to put anyone into the spotlight for dogpiling, I think a specific person should be appointed to deal with all of this, preferably a higher-ranking person in the company, probably even barakb25 himself. At least that way we have central source for all and any explanations and statements.
