Finishing the Job, pt. 2

An update from my last post.

First, thanks to everyone who gave input on the last post, and especially to duskpeterson for extensive suggestions, and to elena_takami, emarkienna, and skyshark for help finding caches. Eternal e-gratitude to you bunch.

Because of everyone's help in the search, we found information for 65 more journals than I had originally collected caches for, bringing our total to 82. There are only 92 left without any info on them.

You can see for yourself each and every file we found by going to this reference page, though I warn you that 1) there are, indeed, many journals of highly questionable content, and several of us have been rather disturbed by reading some of it, and 2) some of the links broke between when they were found and now. Except for a couple links, which have been noted in that page, I checked all of the links last night and they worked fine then, but for some reason, some don't now. I wish I had time to hunt down and re-search for every broken link. Comments with working links or new additions will still be accepted.

Now, a few things that I'd like to say about what we gathered.

One of the items I found most interesting was longhall's profile; it lists no interests. From what I read, it seemed the interests feature was the main way these journals were found.

About the journals which, in the last post, I stated were still wrongfully suspended. Obviously, I can't provide a 100% objective opinion, but there are three journals that I'd like to point out. violentboylove clearly states in its profile that all content is fictional, lynntownsend is a fandom journal of an apparent incest survivor, and yaoi_slut's journal entries seemed rather innocuous but had profile issues (and, based on various accounts by other users, it became apparent that the journal was banned based on the interest "incest" and all materials relating to that interest were fictional and in locked entries; this, however, we cannot confirm, just thought I'd add it for whatever insight it may provide). I encourage you to make your own assessments of these journals. If any more links from those journals break, I've got the pages saved and will send them to anyone who asks. Sorry, but I won't be backing up much of the rest of the content; if anyone wants to volunteer please let me know so I can make a note of that.

The criteria LJ outlined for reinstating journals:

1. All Fandom journals
2. All fiction journals
3. All journals who that had problems in their profile only

If you've known such a user whose journal you feel should be reinstated before this whole fiasco, encourage them to check out this FAQ page regarding how to get one's journal unsuspended. From the bits and pieces I've gathered, it seems that the users of the journals hold the primary power (however much or little that may be) in getting things re-reviewed. However, if you do not already know them, please do not hunt down these people (irony noted) and bother them any more. From comments and posts I've read, these users are rather distraught over the whole situation enough as it is.

Whatever you decide to do or not do, please consider this statement: "...all journals and communities that were suspended that did not clearly violate community policies have been restored." From here.

ETA: June 8th, 11:30 p.m.
FOUR OF THE JOURNALS ARE BACK!!!

riddle_torture, violentboylove, lynntownsend, and yaoi_slut (and possibly others) have all been reinstated!

Small a victory as this may be, it is indeed a noteworthy one. Given the confidence of LJ's statements regarding the journals that were still suspended at the time this was posted, it certainly didn't seem that they'd be reconsidering anything. Though this certainly doesn't make up for what was done, it is rather encouraging.
