oh fuck, this is so gorgeous and perfect and--just--i want dean to have this, to have someone where he can be safe. be new at things, be believed just--fuck. so lovely, the way the scene jerks forward in little pieces.

because this is just so painfully *right* for both of them, they're both--at this point in the timeline--so fucking *wounded* and wary but going ahead anyway, all these little scenes just feel like puzzle pieces slowly snapping together in slow-motion. that ben can be somewhere *safe* for dean, that dean can *let* him be his safe place--i just, they FIT together and reading the sscenes, it's like watching all the million little raw holes in them fill up.

They are! They are both hurt and yet trying to give things a go because they can sense that there's something that could be great here and no matter what's come before, it's worth it.

I can't even tell you how much I adore this comment. Because you've listed all the things I wanted for Dean: be safe. be new at things, be believed. He's earned those things, with his whole life, and here, with Ben, by telling him the truth when he was still weak and vulnerable, he earned them with Ben. And Ben is generous and gives them freely.

Dean emerges from the bathroom wearing only a pair of navy blue sweatpants. My brain sort of broke at this bit, and ending with It's only after he's torn an orgasm from Dean and slid inside his heat that he realizes that the word Dean keeps repeating is his name. just broke my brain more. Nice hot scene between them at the end, that made me 'AWWW' as well. Loved your description of poor Dean as Dean's skin is actually tinged grey from pain and fatigue.
