yay long weekend!
Hi, everybody!
It's been such a lovely weekend so far. After being at work until 10:30 or 11 every night this week, I skipped out of work early (4 pm) on Friday and met up with my cousin, her husband, and their two little kids. Those boys are my little Dean and Sam - I've based quite a lot of weechester stuff on them, like the scene in "Three Easy Pieces" where Sammy is flipped upside-down to distract him from having his nails cut - and they were even more adorable than usual. They held hands with me as we walked all over the city, and then were absurdly charming all through dinner. Big eyes, piping little voices, precocious questions - the whole nine yards.
I spent Saturday catching up on my flist and working on my home computer.
And today, I've done four loads of laundry, gone grocery shopping, booked tickets, and read half a novel. I still need to clean the apartment, but first I will finish watching season 1 of Bones on Hulu and the last three eps of SPN season 3 on my DVR. And then I will clean. And then I will get to work on the second request I promised to fulfill over at the Fall Fandom Free-For-All (I've already done the first).
And the cherry on top for all of this? One of my requests ( here's my little list) has already been fulfilled! The scarily multitalented gretazreta made a lovely, smart, amazing cover for my story "Lumina." Look!
It won't make much sense if you haven't read the story, but, trust me, this is impressive in the thought and execution. The waves of Lu's hair like a veil, the buds and flowers signaling her new life, the black and white palette indicating the flip-side of Lu's new life and Dean's impending death, and that one shy, sly sunburst that ties everything together. I could not love it more.
And I get one more day of just-for-me time tomorrow! Yay!
