This Afternoon - Featuring My Review Of The Bayside Beanery

I rollerbladed to the second road past Sullivan today. By the end of next week, I should be going to Ravenna and back. After a much needed shower, I went down to the Bayside Beanery to read and have a drink. I was quite disappointed with this establishment. The atmosphere was subpar. They had tried to create some with a few mass-produced pieces of French artwork on the walls, but the colors were bland, and it seemed flat and steril. Also they were playing oldies, which are good, but not in a coffee shop. This is all nitpicking, but the true letdown was the selection. They really didn't have anything that I couldn't buy at Meijers. For green tea, they had Tazo, which might as well be Lipton, and for chai, they had Celestial Seasonings, which is just as bad. I suppose it is decent and plays to their clientelle, but as far as coffee shops go, it was quite the let down. If they plan on turning Lakeside into a hip little street for the ferry, they need to do better than that. On the plus side, I went to Gezzies or whatever it's called, and liked it very much. Oh well. I'm a cynical snob. I have to go get some food and go to work.
