Author's Notes: I'm soooo proud of this piece! It's not often that I make a piece that I like the more I look at it, but this one pleases me.
I started with this sketch:
And then I colored it. Now, I believe my coloring is getting much better, but this just defies all that I've done before! You will notice that not one bit of the lineart is visible, in fact I deleted that layer! Too exciting! The shadows and highlights actually mold the face instead of accenting what should be there and letting the imagination fill in the rest.
Now, I still need to work on background, and dynamic images, but this is a HUGE leap forward for me, I think.
