My trip is almost over, I know I always want to blog about them but I usually wait till later and then forget half of the stuff. I'll give you the readers digest version but it still could be long LOL
I flew down with CO, flights were great, and service was good.
I arrived mid afternoon and my acquaintance picked me up at the airport. It was really great to see him. We had a great dinner that evening and an early night. On Thursday I headed over to Desertika for my spa appt, I had a full body scrub and wrap, facial and 1 hour massage and then a trip to the oxygen bar. I felt so pampered. I loved it!! That evening we met up with Adriana and had tacos. Adri, is a lovely person and I am so glad I met her. We have quite a few things in common and I hope I get to see her again.
Friday we went to Acapulco, the drive took a little longer than normal but we did arrive. We stayed at the CopaCabana and Thomas cook rates it a 4 star, mmmmm try 1/4 star . . . but c'est la vie you win some you lose some LOL We hit the beach and drank beer. Fantastic, but the best part of the trip (my personal favorite highlight) happened that evening. We hit a taco stand for dinner and then headed over to Barba Roja. It is an open air bar, pirate theme, and they have great music and dancing going on. My aquaintance wasn't really dancing much so when another Mexican gent asked me to dance I jumped on it. It wasn't dancing like at home, it was Latin dancing. He spun me, twirled me, it was like DD Havana Nights but without the gyrating LOL it was just something out of a movie LOL I do know how to salsa and merengue, so I know how, but it was effortless, he knew how to lead! and while I was moving I wondered if I looked like a 2 left footed canuck but he complimented me left right and centre!! We danced for probably 20 minutes or so (until I was tired) and at one time it was raining and my foot slipped dude caught me before I could hit the ground completely. He gave me his card, now I didn't call, I am a taken woman, but it was flattering none the less. That dance I think was the highlight of my trip!!! It will be what I remember about Acapulco feeling like a princess being spun around the floor.
Saturday we went to the beach in the morning where i had my "experience" with mother nature in the Pacific (see the earlier blog entry) and then in the afternoon we went to a joint outside of Acapulco and had fish. That evening we went and saw La Quebrada, which was very interesting. On our way back from the fish we were stopped by the army in a drug/guns check and we had to get out of the car and they checked it, they were in full garb and had BIG ASS guns, I flipped up my shades hoping that my glaring green eyes and red hair would scream tourist. It may have, they finished up and we were back on our way.
Sunday we drove back to Mexico City and went to the artesian market in the afternoon, it was very good and I picked up prezzies for a few of my girls :) That night my aquaintance made dinner and we watched a movie.
Very good trip over all as long as the flight home tomorrow goes as planned it will be aces. I have first class between MEX and IAH so that will be fun.
so best part: the dancing wth a random person who made me feel beautiful
the worst part: getting tossed around in the pacific and the Copa Cabana (shit hole)
