SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW.
OKAY SO YOU KNOW THAT RUGBY MANGA?
(OR MAYBE YOU DON'T BUT THAT'S OKAY I'LL TELL YOU IN A MINUTE)
IT'S BEING SCANLATED AGAIN. I never thought I'd see any more of this get scanlated, and to say I'm delighted is kind of an understatement. So if you are already familiar with it and enjoyed it just as much as I did, chapter 6 is available
here (say thanks to the group for choosing to pick it up and show it some love). I just read the chapter myself, it's the one where they go to Takase (the team with the unicorn logo and the cute guy with the neck-brace) and AAAH AT LAST I CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY'RE SAYING.
I haven't posted a rec for this series for quite some time, since I assumed that the group previously scanlating it had disappeared and no more would be coming out (it's not that far off a year since the last chapter was released), but now let me try to tempt you with it since hopefully the whole series will get scanlated this time. The series is 15: Meisetsu Kougyou Koukou Rugby Bu, and it's about high school rugby. So of course I started to read it for the novelty factor (because rugby is a popular sport in the UK and I hadn't seen a manga about it before) and because I was just starting to realise that sports series often contain a lot of content that appeals to me (COUGH COUGH) and I stayed with it because of the gorgeous art and because, if anything, it's even MORE relevant to my fujoshi interests than I had hoped. So are you in yet? OR DO I NEED TO TEMPT YOU FURTHER.
15: Meisetsu Kougyou Koukou Rugby Bu The original rec post I made for it is
here (complete with example pages and a bit more about the premise). I promise you it's worth the time, and as of now the series is complete at three volumes, so it won't be too long. I just feel like this series deserves more interest (and when the cover of the first volume looks like
this and the author/artist draws fanart of his own series like
this and
AND ESPECIALLY THIS then NOBODY IS GOING TO CONVINCE ME THAT I'M NOT MEANT TO BE SHIPPING THE HELL OUT OF IT). Naruse Yoshiki REALLY likes rugby and has a thing for rugby players AND IT SHOWS.
(My favourite ships are Yui/Akira and Mao/Yui and those are pretty much tied.)
(If you read the manga, try the oneshot AND the chaptered series for maximum enjoyment, because the oneshot is where where Akira CRIES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MATCH and Yui just holds him awkwardly and the continuation/restart has Yui inviting Akira back to his house to discuss tactics for their upcoming match, and so the two of them spend some time lolling around in Yui's room before Yui gets Akira to try and hit him with a plastic bottle in order to illustrate what a counterattack is; because of that
this happens and then Akira is kneeling between Yui's legs on the
next page and ASKDJASKDASF)
(...it's not subtle, okay?)
