THIS IS WHY I AM POOR

Feb 19, 2012 20:20

Today is the release date of so many Giant Killing doujinshi that I might just keel over and expire from the mixture of joy and knowing that I certainly can't afford everything I want to buy (bad month for spending thanks to several unexpected expenses). This is probably my biggest weakness for spending money when I really shouldn't, and I just ( Read more... )

\o/ Doujnshi!!!!! I love those Only Events; there's a Yondemasu yo one coming up in March and I can't wait to see what pops up!

There's so much GK stuff I love it <333 No, you're not the only one stressed. There's one circle who never puts anything out in shops; it's either you go to comiket/sparks/etc or you're just out of luck.

Your bank account will be sad, but think of how happy your bookshelf will be!!!

YES, it's like AAAAH all at once there's so much coming out. I just wish I could afford it all without having to think so hard about finances and how not to run out of money, LOL. I'm looking forward to more Azazel-san too, there's some really nice art in that fandom, it surprised me when I first got into it (wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near that popular). I might have to be more strict with myself there but GK is still my favourite and I have low powers of resistance for it (so basically I have already justified spending a lot of money oops ( ... )

XDDD Yes for the nice art!! This one came out last year, and it's not even funny how bad I want it. My fandom buying is pretty balanced between Prince of Tennis and One Piece. There's the occassional SenBasa and Yondemasu. Oh, there's this lovely 40 page GK one! I should be getting it in the mail soon, and I'll definitely scan it when I do! <333

Lol at justifying purchases. You know, everyone has something they spend money on, this is yours. Don't knock it =)

Yeah, it's super unusual for a circle to be event-only. I've hired someone for comic city sparks and winter comiket to visit their booth, but they've all been sold out. Luckily, they're putting out an anthology in for Haru, so... /crosses fingers

Hnngh that one looks gorgeous! For that fandom my MOST WANTED is actually by that same circle (this one!) but even though it came back into stock not long ago it sold out super fast and I missed it again. That GK one looks really cute as well.

How about Y!J auctions (if their books show up on there/are not too expensive)? I've contemplated auctions for some that I want that are out of print or whatever, but so far always talked myself out of it (mainly because I've wanted to order other stuff at the same time anyway, but sooner or later I just know I'm going to cave and go for it). Hope you manage to get the anthology, at least!

Oh, I've seen that one!! And I forgot to tell you, I have this one coming in the mail soon too! All their stuff is absolutely stunning.

One person on my f!list swears by shopping mall japan; it's the only thing she really uses for yahoo auctions. She practically lives on that site and taobao, lol. I'm holding off as long as I can.

More gorgeous art! I love Beelzebub/Sakuma.

Ooh, I'll have to look into that. I wasn't sure whether it would be better to use a shopping service like that or find someone on LJ to do it through. I understand wanting to hold off, I think it could be a slippery slope, as they say.

Haha, I'm for anyone with Beelzebub. It's the same with Gino. XD

Huh, it might be cheaper to do it via someone on LJ, but I wouldn't be sure. Lately for shops like Tora/CQueen/KAC I go to one LJ user who doesn't charge commission. If I order in bulk, it's definitely cheaper than going through some of the main group order people like Solphiia.

Auctions will definitely send me off the deep end. I can foresee all my travel savings just slipping away. Lol, a bigger salary would be nice XD

Lol, she takes orders for anyone, as long as you're willing to pay for the bank fees/shipping to her in Japan. Her exchange rate is better than paypal's too. Back in November it was around 79 Y to 1 USD, right now it's 77. (But still better than Paypal's 75) She's can be slow to respond and send invoices, but she's quick to order and pretty chill about when she receives payment. Don't worry if she drops off the grid, she'll come back.

Thanks me tooooooo

Lol, they did for a brief time May of 2011. x.x

Oh awesome, that's all good to know, thanks for pointing me in her direction. I'll have a think about asking her next time I order. :)

Their books must be so hard to get hold of. D: I hope you get lucky with their next release, then.

Found your Yondemasu Yo "most wanted" here at Suruga. 800 Yen + whatever domestic and international shipping is.

Oooh. OOOH.

(It might hurt my savings, but it's HELPING!)

I am going to sit on my hands tonight but tomorrow I need to actually make some decisions about what I'm going to order (why is there so much that I want at the moment?) and curse the fact that I can't afford it all. I also saw a post from someone last night who is in Japan and willing to go and look for second hand-doujinshi in stores and aaah.
