Yokozawa no Baai
So tired right now.
I'm going to sleep for as long as my body requires me to tomorrow, then proceed to work on an outline for NaNo.
Before I headed to work this morning, I saw some preview images and a brief summary of Yokozawa no Baai, and have since read a much more detailed summary of the first three chapters and I LOVE IT SO MUCH, I LOVE YOKOZAWA SO MUCH (and I love that a lot of other SiH fans seem to like his character much more now). I liked Yokozawa since I first met him the the manga, his situation and his personality and everything. He's not without his flaws, but I have always felt a lot of empathy and understanding for him, and when he was finally told by Takano and had to accept that he'd never get to be with the man he loved, I felt awful for him (that scene immediately afterwards where he walks back through the office and someone comments about how his eyes are red almost BROKE MY HEART).
BUT THIS. THIS IS SO ADORABLE.
I am shocked by the fact that it's written by the same person responsible for the awful rape scene between Hatori and Chiaki. GOD GIVE ME MORE OF THIS AMAZING STUFF. I am liking the way their relationship is developing so far (although if I were to have one criticism it would be that it all happens so fast and so soon after the rejection that I mentioned above, but on second thoughts that was the whole reason Yokozawa got drunk enough to end up in a hotel with someone such as Kirishima anyway, so I think any of my dissatisfaction comes from the desire for him to sleep around more and angst about it before finding true love~). I hope there is no real drama ahead of them. I'd love for their relationship to take a gentle and natural path towards love. I don't know how it fits into the theme of first love, but I don't think it's that important that it needs to. To me, it's of more significance because both Yokozawa and Kirishima have essentially lost their first loves, and their story shows that the relationships that come after that can have value, too. HEAL HIS HEART, KIRISHIMA.
(I also had this AU idea in my head where he should hook up with Yuu for some casual sex before Kirishima and they could discuss how hard love can be)
