LMAO so I was aware of Nyaiant Killing, but I had NO IDEA that full pages of the manga would be reproduced so faithfully. EVERYTHING IS THE SAME, JUST WITH CATS. It does kind of look hilariously edited together but it is SUCH A RIDICULOUS THING and yet you can see that they've been careful to select cats that look like or capture the personality of the player they are representing (the page I'm talking about is here if you haven't seen it yet). I am biased here, because Akasaki is played by an Abyssinian and they are one of my favourite cat breeds, but it's PERFECT (from the expression to the dog-like breed personality). (Oh, and that Singapura is ideal for Mochida.)

I am very amused by the fact that Akasaki is a cat who behaves like a dog but would probably never admit to it.

I had some good laughs over reading the Wikipedia sections on breed temperament; the Abyssinian one is here and includes references to needing love to keep them happy and how they can sometimes be irritable around other cats. It also says they are sensible and don't take unnecessary risks (perhaps a good reflection of Akasaki's mentality as a player? Of course, some risks are taken and he has that drive and determination needed to score but at the same time he seems very balanced and not likely to go for a stupid shot that would have had a better chance of success as a pass...)

I laughed SO much at the line from the Singapura article that says "They have a tendency to perch on high places, to allow them a better view of their surrounding" LMAO JUST PICTURING MOCHIDA SAT UP SOMEWHERE HIGH OBSERVING EVERYONE ELSE.

OKAY ENOUGH CATS.

Giant Killing extra Vol. 07 is released later this month, and if I'm understanding it right then it comes with trading cards? I had basically decided not to buy more of these after the first one because of the large amount of real football content, but if the next four issues come with trading cards I might need to reconsider. GK is also on the cover of Morning again, and I am REALLY hoping that an artbook release is just around the corner because some of the previous artwork has also been gorgeous.
