(and this is the beauty of Sion's straightforward innocence when it comes to Nezumi; he didn't necessarily mean SEXUAL attraction, but it's clear that every part of his being is drawn towards Nezumi and he recognises it in himself)

MY ATTRACTION TO SION GOES UP THE MORE VULNERABLE HE LOOKS
AND THEN THE MOMENT THAT NOBODY THOUGHT WOULD BE INCLUDED BUT IT WAS:
OH FUCK THEY DID ACTUALLY KISS.
AND SION WAS THE ONE TO DO IT, NO LESS.
I'm not even going to touch on the wank that the relationship between Nezumi and Sion has caused other than to say FUCK ANYONE WHO IS CLOSED-MINDED ENOUGH TO STOP WATCHING A SERIES JUST BECAUSE OF ONE CHASTE KISS. Because it is SO INCREDIBLE TO ME to see a moment like this in an anime that is not a BL.
Nezumi and Sion's relationship is an important part of this series, there's no denying it. But the main thrust of the focus on their relationship isn't romantic, and romance is not the main theme or plot of the series. That's what makes it so special. It was a short scene, a complicated moment, and it was handled well and it was actually THERE. Like a lot of people, I would have loved to see more of Nezumi's reaction and I do think the anime is going light on the darker complexities of their relationship, but I can deal with that, I think. Because it would have been so easy to cut this and they didn't.
I am thrilled that nobody can dismiss it, to be honest, even if they haven't read a single word of the novels.
...at the same time I have alarm bells going off in my head because TOO INVESTED TOO INVESTED TOO INVESTED
Is anyone else still watching No. 6? IT CAN'T JUST BE ME. I was so behind with it when I left to go on holiday and then got back and marathoned through what I had missed and then headed for novel translations/summaries and yeah, the anime is far from perfect and I'm finding it hard to get a concrete sense of the world/society because it's kind of like dystopia lite BUT THERE IS NEZUMI. AND I LOVE HIM A LOT. I do find that Sion can grate on my nerves at times because he's just TOO IDEALISTIC and that bothers me so much more than Nezumi's extremist black and white views (not saying these are okay either), but Sion's open honesty and Nezumi's quite obviously failing attempts to create barriers and maintain emotional distance is just. Yeah.
Oh and ALSO, TODAY I READ SOMEWHERE THAT IVAN FROM T&B IS CONFIRMED TO BE GAY IN A DRAMA CD?
SOMEONE TELL ME THIS IS TRUE.
