Konbini-kun AAAAH IT'S SO CUTE

So right before I went to bed last night I checked and saw that chapter 4 of Junko's Konbini-kun had been scanlated, so I had to read it even though I was tired AND OMG IT WAS SO CUTE. How can these characters be so adorable? I remember when I first started to read it, I wasn't sure whether I'd like it, but for something so short the characters feel surprisingly solid. Originally I thought it was hard to believe that Endou would fall for Yamai in two seconds flat (he starts working with him and thinks he's too brash and loud for them to ever be friends and then he sees Yamai saving a kitten and the inevitable happens and he ends up falling in love with him), but the more I read of Endou's past, the more sense it made for him to form an attachment to someone he sees doing something like that, especially if you consider that the kitten is a metaphor for Endou himself and he is in distress and needs saving, too. AND THESE TWO CHARACTERS ARE SO CUTE TOGETHER, I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE FINAL CHAPTER AND THEIR ~ALONE TIME
I definitely recommend it, if you're looking for something short yet cute that will put a smile on your face. Basically, it's a healing story and I love those.
I CANNOT RESIST.
I was totally lost at the end of chapter 3.
YAMAI KNOWS ABOUT ENDOU'S (PAINFULLY OBVIOUS) CRUSH ON HIM. At this point, it's already clear that having someone like Yamai is just what Endou needs, and you KNOW it's going to happen but ajasdhdfj I hated having to wait to see them get together in chapter 4.
I love how Yamai just CONFRONTS him with it.
...and how Endou hadn't even considered the possibility that anyone could ever love him back.
OH GOD THIS KIND OF BREAKS MY HEART BECAUSE I JUST WANT TO TELL HIM IT'S ALL GOING TO BE OKAY AND HE DOESN'T NEED TO RUN AWAY OR THINK THAT HE'S TO BLAME FOR EVERYTHING BAD THAT HAPPENED TO HIM. GET IN THERE YAMAI (and he does and he's so reassuring and there's a kiss and they admit that they have feelings for each other and augh I love these two together so much--)
I need the last chapter in my life (especially because I APPARENTLY WRONGLY assumed that this manga wasn't going to feature anything too explicit but now I know it does and I want to see it even moooore).
Aso, I don't know whether anyone else has read it (but now you totally should!), but is it just me or does it seem like Kunieda may have also had feelings for Endou? This isn't something that gets stated in the manga, but he always looks so uncomfortable when what happened is brought up, and is clearly not okay with how Endou was treated, and this could just be because he feels bad for the consequences but part of me thinks that the reason he behaves as he does is because he is closeted and SCARED. I don't know whether this is a reasonable theory to have or whether it's just me trying to find an explanation for his behaviour because he looks so miserable and I like that, but there you go. (I am glad that Endou doesn't outright forgive him, though, because he doesn't deserve that, and it's rare to see something show that you don't need to find forgiveness to let something go and move on.)
