The Hazards of Love
Waking up before 8:00am on my sole day off this week? Not fun. (The road outside our flat is currently closed off for replacement of the water mains - which means pneumatic drilling starts up between 7:00am-8:00am each morning even on weekends.)
I started reading The Nikopol Trilogy yesterday. I've read the first book of three (The Carnival of Immortals) and will probably read at least the second today, assuming the remaining books are of a similar length to the first. It's really very good; the art style in particular caught my eye when I first decided to read it and that first impression has held true. I love the gloomy and surpressed colour palette coupled with a restricted selection of brighter colours. I'll probably upload the file later today for anyone who wants to snag it, as it seems to be pretty hard to get hold of other than through downloading it, which is a damn shame.
Listening to the new Decemberists album at the moment. Quite impressed with it so far.
