Princeless: Short Stories for Warrior Women

Nov 21, 2012 18:22

I am in Philadelphia! Kinda. I am here to spend Thanksgiving with the roomies chez famile de Becca and to eat until I explode in a mess of contented vegetarian stuffing.

But I’ll maybe talk about that tomorrow. Right now I want to talk about what I got at the comic store today.

Princeless: Short Stories for Warrior Women is an anthology of shorts and pin-ups from the world of Adrienne, the rockin’ Princess who busted out of her own tower and donned armor to rescue her sisters. The first volume of her adventures (which, hey, is available  from Amazon and from ComiXology and presumably whichever other place you like to buy your comics from) covered her escape from her old life and the start of the new. This anthology shows backstory in the form of a childhood story of her and her brother, the tale of how her parents met, and a preview of Vol 2.

It is, as to be expected, awesome.

Written by J. Whiteley and with (judging from the names) an all-female team of artists, this is a perfect starter book for people new to Princeless (but really, go get Vol. 1. It’s too good to miss) and exactly what I needed to whet my appetite for Adrienne.

Princeless: Short Stories for Warrior Women is available on ComiXology and hopefully also in your LCS. Go! Read it now!

Thank me later.
