First Socks
Originally uploaded by innerbratI do not, currently, have a particularly high fever, so what I have right now isn't the Piggie Sniffles. Just something that gives me a killer headache and lots of fatigue and generally makes me miserable. I've been at home for a few days, now, with avariel_wings who is also sick, watching TV and knitting.

The knitting is going well; I finished my first ever pair of socks a few weeks ago now: they fit well (because obviously my feet were there as I knitted) and are nicely between the much-too-thin of normal shop bought socks and the thick hiking or snuggly sock that do instead of slippers. These socks are indeed great for boots that are just half a size too big, and the alpaca wool is really comfy.

There was a problem in yarn quantity though: the first sock took more than half my yarn and now I have ridiculously mismatched socks in terms of length, so they're comfy socks of home and under boots, but not so much with the going out. This is OK for now, but my second pair is well underway now - with much more expensive and sexy-coloured yarn, and I really don't want to have the same mistake.

Meanwhile I have three other projects in various states of completeness, but they're all gifts so I won't talk about them in too much detail here. Knitting remains good for me; it keeps me in front of the TV so I can follow the story, and it keeps me present on the tube on my commute so I can listen to my podcast. and with all the commuting I'm doing these days, it's all coming along well.

I do have mor to say about Life, which I've been watching, and Being Human, which I've been re-watching, but they can wait until I've seen the first season finales of both of them.
