It's true that it's a pleasant compliment to be told something you've written has made someone smile.
It's also true that a compliment from a writer whose work you admire is worth just a little bit extra.
So a writer whose work you admire taking the time to tell you that something you wrote made them smile - that's extra nice.
Though it's scary as hell to realise that even published, popular writers have access to Google and might just be looking up the names of their books to see what people are writing about them. That's worrying
