Gaming that didn't take place on LiveJournal

dm_of_the_rings is sort of dead. Long livedarthsanddroids.

Like its parent comic, part of the genius of the strip is the writers' commentary of gaming conventions and the source material itself: The Cthulhu Mythos retains enduring popularity for its groundbreaking psychological horror stories, and is constantly being added to by fans and imitators the world over. A defining feature of the Mythos is the mind-numbingly horrific creatures who dwell in its universe, capable of literally driving humans insane by the mere fact of their existence.

Kind of like Jar Jar on several levels.

Talking about gaming, Cutthroat Caverns is really good. I don't usually feel the need to announce it to LiveJournal when a game we play at Sad Club is good or not, but as this was a game drakhen got for free, and not one someone picked up for being good, I didn't know what to expect. And it was fun - possibly because I'm a natural Munchkin and this has the perfect balance of necessary cooperation and heartless back stabbing, but the game play is super simple, the concept is fun, and the monsters are all cool. Not to mention the artwork, of course.

So given, that, is it irony that the dragon Iz drew actually killed me the first game we played? Oh well, I got him the next time round.
