Countdown to 9/4 - The Challenge for Life journey begins

Aug 24, 2005 19:12

These 3 things came together and I had a light bulb moment - a subtle one. Like "you've always known this but seem to need help getting it to the front." So my week by week (baby steps people) BFL challenge begins on 9/4. At my own pace. And I'll build the body I want and deserve and it will be the body I've earned. Between now and then I'll start the motions - with a low bar.

Healthy, strong, graceful, fit, full of energy, hot, younger. That will be me at fourty *almost passes out - 40!!*. Yes, 40 is only a little over 2 months away, but then I have 12 months of it so I really have 14+ months - I *can* create a transformation in 14 months!!

Here are the 3 things:

(1) Skwigg's blog entry from 8/22 where she said:

"...it's really just a matter of being consistent. If you get up every day and eat and train like an athlete, eventually you're going to start looking like one. There's no way around it." So simple-but it struck something. She went on to say to spend time "getting your head together, making improvements to your food, making the weight training a habit, easing back into the cardio. You'll lose weight, regain your confidence, have some fun, and the whole thing will start to seem appealing again. THEN you buckle down and go for it." In other words - at my own pace.

(2) my good friend Wendy who's been trying to teach me to create goals I win every day because it teaches my subconcious mind to trust. Skwigg says create confidence. Different perspective, same advice.

(3) my good friend Michelle with whom I had a conversation today about helping each other do it week by week on our own terms.

Maybe if we see the same theme coming at us from 3 trusted sources in 24 hours, we should listen. God, inner voice, Higher power - I officially heard you. You got my attention.

And so it begins...
