Kaze Hikaru Cosplay Making: Year 3!

Nov 27, 2009 05:23

Yes, it's time once again for my annual last-minute attempt to finish my eternally half-finished Kaze Hikaru cosplay outfit in time for the AME convention. I will do it this year, dammit. The theme this year is Feudal Japan for God's sake; how much more perfect a time to wear a KH outfit could there be??

The State of the Cosplay (5:15 am, 27 Nov):
-inner layer (white) - 97% finished (must rip out some stitches)
-middle layer (green) - 90% finished (kimono collars = pure evil)
-outer coat (blue with white "mountain stripes") - 80% finished (evil collar + painting the pattern)
-hakama (white and blue striped) - 5% finished (ahahahaha, ohgod. o_o)
-hairpiece/wig (for Seizaburo hair) - 60% finished (...it's complicated. yet cool. ^_^)
-fake sword (not drawable, of a piece w/ scabbard) - 0% finished (styrofoam and sandpaper. it'll work.)
-sandals - 97% finished (a teeny adjustment or two IF there's time)
-tabi - 0% finished (socks. cut. sew. done.)
-loopy rope thing for around the haori - 0-40% finished (depends whether I can find the rope I bought last year...)

Watch this space for updates! :D :D :D
