Shopping trip
The shopping trip was very succesful. We all spent quite some money, but we're all happy with what we found. I bought a nice bag, a pretty white blouse, a black shirt and a raincoat (as spring has been nothing but rain yet!). Oh, and I bought two DVDs, The Unbearable Lightness of Being and American Beauty, and two books from Milan Kundera.
It was nice to be in Antwerp, I like that city althought I don't know it that well. Wim and Michel know it pretty good, Michel studied there and Wim is working there now, so they showed me the way when we were not on "De Meir" (the shopping street). Wim took us to this lovely restaurant where they had the most delicious pastas.
Gym Gala
I survived the gym gala. I'm in pieces, but I'm still here ;) The girls did pretty great, I was happily surprised. I knew the youngest would be able to do a good performance, but it looked better than expected, probably also because they were all dressed in white, which looked pretty cool. My oldest girls shocked a lot of people, because they we're dressed gothic and there were even two gothic "boys" (they look so young behind their makeup) that did the make up of those girls. They looked pretty scary, but so cool. Those gymgalas are all about cute little kids, so this was a bit different, but for me, this was the way to let the girls dance to something they really like (Evanescence) and it looked really good.
More horrific was the fact that when I got there half an hour before the show started, all dressed up, and they came to tell me the teachers had to do an act as well. I was explained we were doing some sort of "aerobic" act and we just had to follow the steps the people in front were doing. Can you imagine me jumping up and down from left to right for 4 long minutes? I was not happy!! It looked stupid, I was not wearing a bra made for jumping, and I didn't feel so fresh anymore afterwards...
