Dance classes

Yesterday evening I've decided which songs to use for my dance performances at gymshow. This is always harder to choose than the other songs for the year, because those of the gymshow are theme related. For my first dance group, I will use "Pump it" by the Black Eyed Peas, well, that is, if they like it. I think that it totally rocks and I really feel like dancing when I hear it. For them the theme is "movies" and "Pump it" uses a sample from Pulp Fiction song, so that's enough.

The other two dance groups are at another gymclub, where we have to use a theme or song from the last 30 years, because the gymclub exists that long. For the teenagers I will be using "Bring me to live" from Evanescence, which is pretty cool, in the theme of Horror and they'll be dressed as vampires. The kids will do "Carwash" from Christina Aguillera as that's a song that was used last year and they wanted to use that song that year as well, but the others were first, so now I said we'll take it.

Lately I've been training quite good with all of my groups. Before the holidays I often didn't feel like teaching and sometimes that showed in my classes. I know, that's not good. You know, you even notice that the students also lose their enthusiasm when you don't show any. But also the other way around, luckily, so that's what I've been doing the last weeks, motivating all of my students. My best group really needs to be motivated when they train in our "bad" gymhall. This year our trainings there have been almost as good as our other trainings.

By the way, last week we were invited again to perform at the "champions gala" where the local sports champions are honoured for the achievements. It's nothing big, we're just a little town, but that's where the handball people saw us last year and that's when the cheerleading started. So this year we went with our whole group. My girls did really great, as always, but I didn't. *lol* Because a few girls couldn't make it, Kelly and I had to replace them, but my mind was still at my job, and I was just not being concentrated while dancing. That resulted in some mistakes, hehe, though I don't know how hard that showed. You never know. Once (a few years ago) one of my girls and I litteraly bumped into eachother during a switch and apparently nobody saw. Anyway, if I'm ever performing again, I should be more stressed about it so I will pay attention ;)
