Scifiland 'Something Borrowed, Something Blue' Bingo Card
1. Favorite Character
(Olivia Dunham, Fringe)
Her cell is surprisingly hot, especially in the afternoon. The wool blanket they give her is itchy, so she's glad she can rely on the building's heat to keep her warm.
They bring her food, sometimes, and it's not as bad as she thought it would be. She doesn't eat much--she's suspicious of the meat, and she's never been the kind of girl who eats her vegetables--but it keeps her alive, keeps her (at least moderately) healthy, keeps her thinking.
When they test on her, she forces herself to keep her eyes open. She memorizes every detail of the room she's in. Some things she tries to memorize, things that might be useful later: the whitewashed walls, the faces of the people sticking the needles into her elbows, the multicolored chemicals in jars and tubes on the shelves. (The other things she doesn't try to memorize. She knows they'll be with her for the rest of her life:
How red her blood is against the increasing paleness of her own sun-deprived skin--
Being cut open and feeling as every inch of the flesh on her back is parted--
Seeing them wheel corpses by her door, so many corpses, some of them children, some of them old, some of them just--
She doesn't dwell on these things.)

There's one thing Olivia Dunham knows, has always known, deep in her bones, deep in herself. It's determination. Willpower. Tenacity. "She's feisty, that one," Mrs. Morrison had said in third grade. At the time, she didn't care much for the word.
Now? She'll show them how damn well feisty she can be.
