Deux chandeliers de bronze début XIXe
signés Augustin Delafontaine

Deux beaux chandeliers début/milieu XIXe siècle
avec deux danseurs de style grec antique avec peaux de bêtes, amphore et cymbale.

Les deux font 29 cm de hauteur et 22 de largeur,
et pèsent environ 1,5kg chacune (1530g et 1460g pour être précis),
entièrement en bronze.

BRONZE GROUP "DANCERS AFTER BACCHUS" BY AUGUSTE-MAXIMILIEN DELAFONTAINE (1813-1892)Pair of patinated bronze statues featuring two dancers from the procession of Bacchus (Dionysus), the god of wine, drunkenness, excess, and nature in Greco-Roman mythology.

The young man holds the cup and the decanter whereas the woman plays the castanets.
Both are partially covered with animal skins.
They are resting on a round red Griotte marble plinth.
Signed "A.D." DELAFONTAINE. Good vintage condition.
