The sky was amazing earlier this evening on my way home. Big, billowy were spread out in clusters over the sky, so it wasn't overcast. In this one big cumulus (is that the right term?) cloud, a mini lightning storm was raging. It was only in one cloud. It was one of the neatest things I've ever seen. I watched it for a while until the light turned green and I had to go. I watched it while listening to old Dashboard Confessional, which is what I listen when I'm depressed.
The race today was horrible. My dad said some of the top girls crossed the finish line in tears, I guess from pain and heatstroke or something. It was so incredibly HUMID. If my dad hadn't been there to walk me to the tarp, I think I would have had to drag myself over there, if I didn't pass out first. Today was the closest I've come to passing out after a race. I couldn't keep my eyes open while my dad was holding me up, and I kept swaying. Not fun. Not fun that I ran sucky. I ran a 21:34 today, and last year at County I ran a 21:08. That was how bad I sucked today. And I had a fight with my mom, so that made my evening even more enjoyable. Oh, AND I spilled lemondae in my car right when I got home. Wah. . . . If anyone can't tell that I had a bad day, then you're blind and dumb, dumb as in STUPID.
Today when I was cooling down, I was talking to Carter and Galvin, well, mostly Galvin b/c Carter doesn't seem to talk much, and we ran by one of the Houston twins. Galvin runs up to her and says, "Good job, Michelle!" She, of course, had no idea who Galvin was, and managed a surprised thank you. I was like, Galvin is a freshman guy, who doens't even run against this girl, and he knows which twin she is? I know one has long hair, and one is taller than the other, but I can't tell who's taller if they're not next to each other, and even then, I don't know which one goes with the long hair and which one goes with the tallness. Why does this matter? I have no idea why I just typed all that.
I think I'm going to go now, and go to sleep before 10.00 for the first time in 100 years.
