No, its not a new fannish norm. I dealt with someone like this in 1995 in the Power Rangers fandom. It's just someone being a dramatic speshul snowflake about themselves. One of the reasons I haven't been enthralled with tumblr for fandom is that there seems to be a lot more immaturity. Also, depending on your snowflake's age, she may have been raised in the self esteem school of thought that her every whim is oh so important.

*The one I dealt with was a woman who insisted we all erase her fanfic whenever she decided to rewrite her magnum opus because she could not handle the idea of anyone daring to post or read an earlier version of her fanfic. It was just shattering to her that people just weren't willing to dance attendence to her every whim.

Your little snowflake? Who can't handle people complimenting her earlier work? Needs to calm down.

Also, yeah, kinda sad that fandom_wank isn't even a player anymore.
