I was browsing through the Yuletide nominated fandom list, and I was a bit surprised to see that Melanie Rawn's Exiles books didn't make it in. Maybe next year. I haven't reread those books in quite a while, but I remember them fondly. I no longer believe the final book will ever actually be written or published, but the first two set up such an amazing world and system of magic, from what I remember. Maybe I'll plan to reread them over Christmas break this year.
Her sequel to The Golden Key seems to be in permanent limbo as well. That's a pity. That was another fascinating world with potential. Such a waste, that she doesn't seem to be following up any of these worlds anymore. I remember reading somewhere that she had some personal-life crises that seem to have permanently derailed them. A loss to fantasy fiction. Ah, well.
Anybody else read any of these? Want to talk about them? For the record, my motto was always "Goriel Desse is right, and Sarra is a whiny bitch." Um. Authorial intent, what authorial intent? I spit on it.
