THIS Kurt knew that this was what euphoria felt like. He had felt it once before in his life, and that was on his wedding day. This time, however, it was coupled with absolute awe, shock, and a dazed feeling of trying to catch his feet after everything. But it was real. Very, very real. He and Blaine were daddies, and they had a beautiful baby daughter that was their's now. Kurt felt like he was floating around on a cloud. Both he and Blaine couldn't stop grinning to the point their face was aching. The hours following the baby's birth were just a blur to him. There was a whole lot of stuff with the maternity staff, weighing, cleaning, checking the baby, making sure everything was in working order. There were forms to fill out and legal documents to do with, there was placing the tiny baby girl into a bed all of her won with a little pink hat to match her blanket, and a little pink sign above her head that said Baby Girl Hummel-Anderson.
She had a name, but they hadn't revealed it to anyone yet. Kurt wanted Quinn to meet her officially first. Quinn had been beyond exhausted and with a little help from some pain meds, she had slept peacefully for twelve hours in the wake of the birth. That's what a thirty-two hour labour would do to you. Blaine and Kurt had dealt with all the post-birth things needed, as Quinn had directed and authorised before any of this all started. It was so smoothly, smoother than Kurt could have anticipated and all the worries and tension leading up to it seemed sort of silly now. But Quinn was awake now, according to the nurse who came to let Kurt know like he asked to be. She caught him sitting with their baby daughter in his lap staring in awe at her tiny little feet nestled in his hand. Both feet in one hand. Kurt was just dumbfounded. This little person came from part of him, came before he loved Blaine so fucking much it hurt. She was really here now, and it was something he never, ever thought he would personally experience.
Now, he appeared in the doorway of Quinn's beautifully decorated private maternity suite that was housed with everything she could possibly need. The room was already fill with flowers and a huge arrangement of thank you balloons in the corner from the proud new daddies. In his arms was a neatly swaddled pink bundle and as soon as he saw Quinn, the bright, disbelieving grin was back and happy tears were welling up in his eyes again as he came over to sit on the bed beside her. "There's someone you need to officially meet, Aunty Quinn," Kurt told her tearfully.
