I have a weird hobby

I collect industrial sewing machines. Only German ones.
Soon I will have 6.
I need to stop.

I mean, I use them of course!

Six takes up an awful lot of room tho.
I like tinkering with them. Like a man in a shed with kit cars.

Do you prefer American machines? Bizarrely I've just never been able to get on with them.
Then again I learnt/ taught self on a Bernina (my mother surprisingly can't sew but she had one!)
The UK Husqvarna centre is right around the corner from my house. Joy! Though I'm a bit "eh, it's so... small" with domestics now. I have a nice old elna for the buttons holes. That's it! :)

I really love my pffaf cylinder arm walking foot for complex corsetry seams... once you've nailed the curve on falttening the seams its ok, but working a really tight curve through a flatbed is a nightmare.

I have a durkopp ruffler head a very nice old sewing machine guy gave to me. I need to bench it up once I move. That's great for a surprsingly large variety of stuff.

Ordinary sewing I use an Pfaff flatbed, complicated things a durkopp walking foot.

I hate industrial overlockers. I gave in and bought a babylock wave evolve for the air threading. It was worth it :)

I have a domestic elna for button holes. She's a good little lady and was my living for 3 years when I sewed (seamed?!) commercially so she has a forever home!
