Why? Because I'm in this account.

And because I'm finding this meme very helpful. Here be headcanon.

1. He really did want to be a writer. Before his story got his parents killed.

2. He doesn't really have any direction now beyond the idea that he has to help Ahiru. And stop Drosselmeyer, if he can ever find the bastard. It's been too longs since he truly wanted to do something for himself, he's sort of forgotten how.

3. Dancing is not exactly a passion for him, but he finds it brings him into focus, allows him to work through things, better than anything else.

4. He did actually respect Neko-sensei. When the cat wasn't talking about marriage he was a good teacher. He kind of misses him.

5. Close friends are kind of like family. He "killed" his family. Hence he does not try to make close friends. ...Or friends, really. Because they could become close. Ahiru's changed this, but...it's a slow process.

6. He keeps an herb garden at Charon's.

7. He's keeping his sword in excellent condition. Because you have to be prepared.

8. He's reached the point where about 75% of his writing does what he wants.

9. When he was younger, Charon had to clamp down on Fakir's tendency to take in stray and injured animals. Of all kinds. Fortunately, he stopped doing this nearly as much when he found Mytho.

10. This is how Fakir thinks of Mytho: Mytho is someone much better than Fakir could ever be. And that's something that Fakir has to protect and allow to continue, at whatever cost. That's the knight part of Fakir. An even more basic part of Fakir believes that taking care of this "brother" might be the only way to redeem himself and make his life worthwhile.

11. A lot of the above applies to Ahiru as well. But here's the important differences. Ahiru has taught Fakir that you don't just try to protect one individual, you do what is right for everyone. And she inspires him to create his own worth on his own terms, to be strong not only for someone else's sake but his own. Ahiru also encourages him to be honest. And she's just cute.

12. He has read about half the library by now. And it's a big library.

13. When he was very young (living parents and all) he tried to draw as well as write. It never turned out nearly like he thought it should, and he gave up on it for words, which were better at doing what you told them.

14. He is actually very fond of Shakespeare's comedies. Not that he's read them all, where would you get that idea? That would be a waste of time. He's only read the ones assigned. Really.

15. His favorite composer is Tchaikovsky. SHOCKING, I know.

16. His best academic subject is history. He's got the memory for it.

17. He enjoys cooking. It's productive. But he thinks baking is much too much of a hassle. You have professionals for that.

18. He almost doesn't mind Autor pestering him these days. Because then he's not alone.

19. While he doesn't exactly like Rue, even now, he does respect her. He realizes that they acted on very similar impulses, and he realizes how much it must have taken her to overcome her misconceptions and do as she did. He would not mind pledging his service to her as well as the prince, if asked.

20. He tried talking to Lilie and Pique once, because they were Ahiru's friends. It didn't get very far. He's not likely to try again.

21. He visits Ahiru at the lake at least twice a day.
